Photographer's Note
This is a scen of Vodun Ceremony at Grand-Popo, Benin. Voodoo is called Vodun in the locale. I was attracted by two kids watching the Vodun supreme god Mawu dancing around the yard raising a cloud of dust.
Vodun is a traditional organised religion of coastal West Africa, southeastern Ghana, southern and central Togo, southern and central Benin and the Yoruba of southwestern Nigeria.
Grand-Popo is a town, situated beside the sea at south-western Benin.

Hi Hisashi
Great capture and its facinating to hear your stories, you really soak up an interesting insight of different culture on your travels. A very attractive shot here, there must a lot going in the background in the picture while keeping the main subject matter in full focus. Really like the composition and a wonderful balance, and red is as an absolute contrast to the backdrop of dry and dusty background. This striking contrast caught my eye and I couldn't resist taking a look, great description as well, Great job. Congrats. Best regards

Hello Hisashi,
You made an excellent choice of composition by focusing on the children instead of the ceremony. They are both strong eye-catchers, the girl because of her red dress, the boy because of the way he leans on the tree and holds his right hand on his hip.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Hisashi, I can see why you were keen to take this photo-In some way it is most unusual with Voodoo and the chanting - yet two kids standinglike that could be anywhere- You have caught it with good fine sharpness and detail.. well laid out and a lovely title.. TFS Rich

Hello Hisashi,
nice the snapshot from the Vodun ceremony at Benin, with the two children to watch the scenery so carefully. The red cloth of the girl contrast perfect with the whole image in this native cultural event from this country of coastal West Africa.

Hello Hisashi,
This unusual view from behind works very well as it emphasises the feeling of watching a ceremony. The red dress is very eye-catching and I like very much the pose of the boy. The sharpness and DOF is just right. An excellent capture of life in Benin. TFS.

Hi Hisashi,
excellent work. The children are so cute and pretty and you have smartly lowered the perspective to their level. Wide view allows to see the scene between them but thir poses are the most precious in this photo. Very well captured,

Great photo, very interesting environment.
Smart idea to take the two children from behind because it gives a strong sense of participation in the ceremony. The chromatic contrasts make the image very alive and so real. Excellent definition of details. A real pleasure to see.

Dear Hisashi-san
We also join the two young children watching the ceremony from this POV. Their mother ca also be seen, partially visible behind the structure on the left. Interesting ceremony with the person impersonating god Mawu looking like a hairy tent...the little girl's dress and braids are very attractive!
