Photographer's Note
Bunch of nothing, that's what the T-Kal (Trans Kalahari Highway) offers for its enire length. This is what you see, with no variation for 7+ hours travelling at 160kph between Lobatse, Botswana and Gobabis, Namibia, except a few ostriches, a few farm animals, and acouple of fuel & toilet stops where every sane person should stop, this is the Kalahari, the most boring desert in the world. Posted because I wanted to add a new country, since Greenland will always be white. Workshop shows a shot taken while driving the damn thing.

the polarising effect is great tan. i like them used on blue skies. you've got a nice line here and a good sense of barrenness and depth.
i would have dropped your horizon line down a bit further, to enhance the sky. i definitely would have gone as far as the bottom thirds line.
good shot though!

This is a hypnotizing shot! The flatness of the ground and the lack of a subject there really puts the spotlight on the sky. Great pattern, enhanced by the polarizer and the high contrast. Excellent!

Hi Tan. It may be a bunch of nothing but it sure it is beautiful. This sort of landscape begs for a super-wide angle. I would have traded in some ground to get the rest of the cloud along the top of the shot just right of center. Superb catch Tan!

Hi Tan
Is a wonderful shot, the clouds look like a tridimentional space...GREAT

A very pretty shot, Tan. Two very strong halves - in excellent colors and patterns, esp. the busy sky so well caught. And thanks for the note, didn't know about this Highway. Regards, Daniel

Hi Tan
Amazing sky & clouds...great polarising effect. Maybe a little less of the ground would have been better, considering the wonderful sky. But I do like the contrast with the yellow grass/foliage

very nice image Tan,
I think a crop into a carper format had be good for the composition, farther the shot is well taken and the sky is very nice, good job.

I Tan, I like that shot because of the cloudy sky contrasting with the dry grass...

I think really this photo deserves zero points for technical merit (it's really just a point-and-shoot isn't it?) and minus points for such a cynical note, but I'm going to give it one point because I happen to think it's a damn good image. TFS.

Tan, I seem to be developing a weakness for images that include a huge amount of sky filled with clouds, just like this one ;)
I just happen to like the contrast between the sky & land portions of this image. It really gives an impression of a wide open space without much in it (no mountains, lakes, valleys, towns etc.).

Hi Tan, it's the clouds that grabbed my attention in this pic, they seem to be like islands in the sky. The deep blue complements the yellow grass well. It's a bit of a dull pic with no real subject - but as you say, that's how it is. Along with the note I have learned something today and that's a very important aspect of TE. Thanks.

Un ciel comme on n'en voit pas souvent et un paysage d'herbe avec des tons chauds et la photo est superbe.
Beau travail !

Hej Tan,
The blue sky and wonderfully shaped clouds are great above this desert landscape. I also like the contrast of the colours of land and sky. Well done.

I do like the photo, special the sky. Great color and structure. Don't make it fit to your description, cause, since you have taken this beatiful photo, this photo tells me that T-Kal offers a lot of beautiful nature.

Hi Tan,
I really had a good laugh reading your note. Don't ever offer your services to a travel agency that sells trips to the Kalahari: you'd make all their potential customers run away! :o)
Look at it this way: it could have been worse with a uniform, deep blue sky... and that yould have really been a very boaring photo!
Have a nice Sunday.

Hi Tan,
Great contrast of the clouds in the sky. The grass is of less interest. I think I had chosen here for more sky and less land. Maybe the classical exactly 1/3 – 2/3 was even stronger.

Hello Tan,
This is awesome. The use of the polariser has really added an artistic impression on the pic. Excellent clouds.
I see a darker tone at the right side of the pic.You could have corrected it by PS.
Anyways the clouds are the main attraction here in this pic.Beautifully done- TFS- Vikram

Selam Tan,
