Photographer's Note

I must be getting old, tired of life or simply lazy, because while on Cape Verde, even if my room was few minutes’ walk from the beach, I attempted to watch a sunset only once. When standing on the Praia de Lacacao, the sun was not disappearing in the ocean but instead somewhere between the resort buildings. There are two reasons I shared this photo. Firstly, I really like the orange colour of the sky. Secondly, throughout the whole island there is not much vegetation. Palm trees, which often decorate beaches in southern countries, were quite rare. Therefore, the presence of the palm trees in the hotel grounds allowed me to use their silhouettes as a framing for the setting sun.
