Photographer's Note
A quick grab shot taken from a moving horse and cart. In the bg you can see the smog from nearby Cairo, especially at right. The buildings in the front are museums for the pharoah's boats and information on the pyramids themselves. A hot 45c in Cairo. Summer came early last year.
The Great pyramid is so big it would contain the European cathedrals of Florence, Milan, St. Peters Basilica, Westminster Abbey and St. Paul's!

Hi Chris, the typical warm light of the hot egyptian sun after the beautiful night view. I like a lot the man with the camel, waiting some tourists but surely not busy in this difficult moment for the Egypt tourism. Great perspective and the usual top sharpness,i like it! Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hello Chris,
A fine composition, man and camel make a great focal point and sit well against the massive pyramid. Agreeable warm/cool tonal contrasts and excellent sharpness.

Bonjour Chris,

Pyramids and camels always come together in this magnificent sight of monuments, Chris.
Bright daylight beautifully brought out best of colors, and fine sharpness managed.
Good night,

Hello Chris
I think a picture of an Egyptian pyramid needs a man with a camel in the composition. I like that more than the ugly white building next to the famous ancient pyramid.
Excellent presentation
Have a nice day.

Hello Chris,
I love the yellow colours of the pyramid and the ground combined with the very blue sky. The sharpness is superb and shows the stones and textures of the impressive structure so well and clearly. The camel is an excellent inclusion to the foreground, great timing.

Hello Chris,
It's a classic pyramid photo with the camel and its owner in the foreground, facing the right direction. The light is strong but favourable and the photo is perfectly well exposed. I think that even if they stuff all those cathedrals into the pyramid there would still be room for a small parish church somewhere at the top. :-)
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Chris, a 'quick grab' shot that epitomises our ideas of a visit to see the pyramids.
Interesting note about the sheer size of the pyramid; it is hard to comprehend the scale.
Very well managed light.
Regards Jean.

Hi Chris
That's a friendly chappy we've got here - ship of the desert who can survive in the harshest of climates. I like the effective crop, colours, clarity, contrast and the pyramid behind. Nice grab, Congrats

a different pov of this famous pyramid. I liked the inclusion of the camel and the view of that buildings at side of the monument. In my opinion those modern buildings should be removed to another area.

Hello Chris,
On relatively few pictures of the pyramids the museum building can be seen. I must confess that I also don't remember this view. On the other hand it seems very odd that I would have missed the museum ...
Why didn't this Egyptian rider wear his red scarf on his head instad of the blue cap :)
There's smog hanging over Cairo but your picture of the pyramids is perfectly clear. I was there during a sandstorm. Atmospheric but terrible. Perhaps that's why I don't remember the museum building ? :)
Best regards, Paul

Hello Chris,
One day, we'll have the courage to go to Egypt and see the pyramids for ourselves. In the meantime, I'll have to contend with inviting images like this.

I love this picture and the contrast between the great pyramid, and the camel and rider who both seem to be admiring it.
You did very well considering you shot it from a moving cart !
Hard to imagine how much the pyramid could contain ! Amazing realisations of the past !
Thanks for sharing.
Marie-Louise.
