Photographer's Note
I have no idea who this royal couple are but the woman hasn't aged quite as well as her husband. Mind you they are both over 3,000 years old! Might see if I can find a map. There are literally dozens of Pharaohs that have constructed palaces in Karnak over the centuries. And yes I can see the Obelisk is leaning but I wanted the fg statues NOT leaning left.
EDIT. Found out who these statues are. "Statue of Tutankhamun in the form of Amun-Ra at Karnak Temple, Luxor, and his consort Amunet".

Hello Chris,
Karnak was quite an experience. I don't immediately remember the particular statues. I must have seen them, but there was a lot to see. You found a good angle, and the bright sky was no drawback.

Gert

Hi Chris,
A well framed photo, interesting ruins and statues, good effect with two tones, blue and stone colors, good effect with the contrast between light and shadows, tfs.

Hello Chris,
It is interesting to see references to Tutankhamen other than to his tomb.
You used an excellent aspect to capture the two statues in close connection, with the obelisk filling the b/g.
It's a very well exposed shot, the contrasts of light and shadows creating a strong 3D effect.
My warm regards,
Bev 😊

Hi Chris
In old sites like this nothing is dead straight any more and you've made the correct choice for what is straight in this good antiquities photo.
cheers

Hi Chris
A fine picture of the 'aging' couple with lovely colours, contrast and sharpness. The deep blue bg really makes the sculpture pop. No problem with the leaning obelisk, in fact I prefer when bg structures lean a bit, it gives visual variety imho.
Thanks for sharing and have a great week.

Hello Chris,
The image is well framed and the honey coloured stone strikes a lovely contrast with the clear blue sky. Excellent sharpness; we can even see the hieroglyphics; if only I knew what they meant!

Hello Chris.
Wow ... Karnak wonder of the wonders, a sensational framing with a female and a male figure, along with walls full of hieroglyphics and above all the magnificent obelisk.
Good management of brightness and superb sharpness.
Very well done. My congratulations.
All the best and have a good start to the week.
Luis.

Hello Chris,
A fantastic photo of the two ancient statues of the couple. The composition is excellent with the obelisk very well included too. The architecture makes a great contrast with the blue sky. The textures of the stones and the hieroglyphics are also clearly seen.

Hello Chris
A fascinating photo of Tutankhamun and his violated wife.
You have chosen an excellent POV where the couple is beautifully presented and the obelisk seems to refer to the gods. With this nice sunny weather that will probably be Ra.
Excellent presentation
Have a nice day. Groet Rob

Hi Chris,
beautiful fragment of this impressive complex of ruins.
The two monuments are so well preserved and you have captured them perfectly with the obelisk in the background and in great light too.
Great reportage from Luxor!

Hello Chris, fascinating archeological site to visit in Egypt. There is an ancient writing on the obelisk and on the walls. The statue of Tutankhamun in the form of Amun-Ra is well kept where as Amunet face is broken. The nose and the mouth are missing. Perfect sharpness

I like the sobriety of this photo. The golden colour of the stone marries so well with the pure blue sky.
No flourish, only simple, neat, elegant lines.
However, your picture is very sharp, and it's nice to be able to read the hieroglyphs even if we can't decipher them :-)
TFS and kindest regards.
Marie-Louise.
