Photographer's Note
An upward pov inside the Karnak Hypostyle Hall, the largest of its kind in the world. The 2 statues of Amun Ra (Amun Re), the God of the sun, air, and fertility, wearing the hat with the double plume, at left and right, have both been emasculated, probably because of those easily embarrassed French ladies again. (The French were there from 17981801 AD, after the chaos caused by the Ottomans (1786-91 AD) trying to regain their control over Egypt). Here's the uncensored nsfw version of Amun Ra!

Hello Chris,
A good upward view that shows us the reliefs of some of the columns in a good condition, others damaged through history. Between the columns we see other elements of the former building. The blue sky provides a fine backdrop and the good light from behind you gives us a very clear view of the figures.
Regards,
Gert

Hello Chris,
Censorship has lasted longer than I imagined!!!
This is a fine, sharp photograph of these columns, the upward view setting them against the blue sky, which makes a perfect backcloth.
These tall columns show a wonderful skill from the artisans but then, to cover them in hieroglyphs to tell a story, too, is amazing!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Upwards POV enhanced the mighty appearence of the columns, Chris.
The ancient Egyption inscriptions marvelously shown and there is a fine contrast from the blue sky aloft.
Good afternoon,

Hi Chris,
the huge columns in Karnak Temple are so very photogenic.
Sadly they are so close that too often there is too much shadow there. You have selected a great perspective looking up through the columns to the blue sky.
Great effect. Fantastic colors.
We can well see the hieroglyphs.
Excellent capture,
M
