Photographer's Note
These rams and the ones on the opposite side I uploaded yesterday are a type of Sphinx. This one has the body of a lion & the head of a ram, the underworld or nocturnal manifestation of Amun Re. Once again they are guarding Rameses II in front of the entrance to the main Hypostyle Hall. Later pharaohs were also added. There is even a dark skinned 'Ethiopian Pharaoh', Tarharqa, from the kingdom of Kush / Nubia in present day Sudan, who ruled during the 25th dynasty, 690 BC to 664 BC. The so called 'Ethiopian Pharaohs' ruled over Egypt and Nubia for nearly a century.

Bonjour Chris,
Le sujet est bien cadré. la prise de vue permet de voir les détails des sculptures de béliers. La lumičre donne un bon rendu aux couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Hello Chris,
Interesting creatures with their lion bodies and paws, ram heads and human chests. You put them nicely on a diagonal and show them with fine sharpness and light.

Gert

Hello Chris,
A great close-up photo of this long row of rams, I really like the repetition, also with all the smaller sculptures under the heads. Nice light and warm tones.

Hello Chris, the direction of the light was in your favour, as it illuminates the carvings so well.
A well composed shot with the rams on a strong diagonal line.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Chris,
Attractive presentation of this long row of rams each with a pharaoh bas relief in front.
Indeed, the legs we see are rather those of a lion.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Chris,
An excellent exposure and a wonderful sense of depth and perspective, created by the line of repeating images.
When you see something, like this, you realise just how many excellent sculptures they must have had! These sculptures wouldn't have been completed in a week!!!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Chris,
Very impressive again. These are as you wrote on the othe side of the entrance but also at a very different time of the day which makes them appear so very differently.
A repeated pattern which every photographer would wish for.
Excellent capture,
M
