Photographer's Note
The Luxor City Temple Courtyard after passing the hypostyle hall. The lotus blossom capitals are a distinctly Egyptian style of column. Taken around 7 pm but it was still very hot after a midday peak of 48c! The 'Southern Sanctuary', as it was called, was constructed around 1400 BC.

There was enough light at 7pm June evening, Chris, with the details of each pillar are wonderfully shown.
Excellent perspective from diagonal point across the inner yard here.
Wish you a nice weekend,
Ike

Hello Chris,
3.400 years old and they look like they're new (at least from a distance). Are you sure the original columns are not in a museum somewhere and these are copies?
Just joking. But what an impressive cultural heritage, and seen here in a good light and with perfect sharpness.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Chris,
An evening photograph but still plenty of light to record the excellent condition of these temple pillars.
I rather like how the long shadows are making a striped effect in the f/g.
It's just a pity that there are no figures to confirm the scale of these pillars but ... you cannot photograph what is not there!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Chris, not one row of pillars, but double rows! That is impressive.
You managed a good angle to take the shot.
The evening light was perfectly adequate, and gave you some lovely long shadows.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Chris,
Great photo of this impressive colonnade. The shapes of the columns are fantastic and I really like the play of light and shadow as well.

Hi Chris
A row of columns is a great subject to capture perspective. I've never seen columns like this. Great light and I like the pattern of shadows cast by the columns.
Best wishes
Kasia

Hello Chris,
Even without people in the picture, we realize how colossal these columns are.
Great testimony to a glorious past.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Chris
Looks like most of the tour groups had left when you took this photo. A good POV and once again the large version lets us see the detail of the carving into the columns.
cheers

Hi Chris,
I remember these extraordinary columns which I have never seen anywhere else.
The shape is so extraordinary and again there are so many of them.
You had challenging light over there, sadly one cannot be in all great places in optimal time of the day.
Great presentation, very well done,
M

Hello Chris.
This colonnade of Luxor is one of the most beautiful things of the many treasures that this city offers us, very well preserved and with such particular forms it is magical.
Point of view, sharpness, lightness and color are perfect.
A very beautiful photo. I like it.
You have a good day.
Best regards.
Luis.
P.S. The last big snowfall in Madrid, similar to this one and for which we have data thanks to the newspaper library, was on November 27, 1904 and the worst thing is that now we have a cold wave, for tonight -8şC.
