Photographer's Note
Here is a shot of Horus the falcon headed God, at the fortified necropolis / temple of Ramses III of Medinet Habu, on the west bank of the Nile River, close to Luxor in Egypt. Large swathes of both the exterior and interior walls are still covered with such impressive bas reliefs. Horus was the son of Isis and Osiris. He was the god of the sun and moon and often called 'Ra' as well.

Bonjour Chris,
L'oeuvre d'art est impressionnante. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de l'oeuvre d'art de Horus ŕ Medinet Habu. La lumičre donne de belle teintes aux couleurs de l'imae. Bonne journée.

Hello Chris,
Thanks to the sharpness and fine exposure we get a good view of these marvellous reliefs. I can easily imagine the sense in my fingers if I were to touch the details of the carvings. But I guess that's not permitted, and certainly not recommended.
Regards,
Gert

Hello Chris,
These are amazing remnants of the ancient Egyptian culture.
I can imagine how Europeans felt when they first saw these ‘treasures’.
I know Egypt was very popular in Victorian Times and has been popular ever since.
You have shown excellent close-ups, with clarity that allows us to recognise the figures as well as the hieroglyphs.
My warm regards,
Bev 😊

Hello Chris,
A great shot of these ancient stone carvings. You captured them so clearly with a great level of details and fine textures. Also the warm tones are appealing.

Hello Chris,
Excellent clear and sharp capture of the beautiful bas reliefs in the temple.
It's a pity of the many damages, but the test of time has struck here.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Chris, Fascinating view of this relief with Horus and the other gods. They have in hands the ankh cross. I had once the golden small one and I lost it in mysterious conditions.
Best regards Malgo

Hi Chris,
I remember being very impressed when I got the chance to admire those beautiful historic places in person.
This is certainly one of the nice spots. Medinet Habu is I believe less frequented by tourists but I also managed to visit it independently.
Great reportage,

curious as horus was the god of sun and moon at same time, usually they have different gods. marvelous these carvings in the typical style of that civilization. I liked the artwork and your photo.
