Photographer's Note
A neck craning view of the Grand colonnade of Luxor Temple in central Luxor, dating from 1400 BC when it was known as Thebes. It was another very hot day of 48c here! It appears this temple was used for the divine worship of Ramses II. Statues of Amun were shipped upriver from Karnak every year to this Southern Sanctuary, to give greater weight to the king's divine status claims. More information here:

Hello Chris, I remember the very hot day in Luxor but I do not know what was the temperature. Probably not as high as 48 C. Interesting composition with the strong diagonal lines. With the movable screen in the camera, no need to have pain in the neck. original take.

Hello Chris,
An original composition from Luxor in a style more often used by photographers in downtown New York or other places full of skyscrapers. The two distinct diagonals make the photo very eye-catching.

Bonjour Chris,
La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des colonnes du Temple de Luxor, le photographe a du faire des acrobaties pour créer cette scčne. La lumičre fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne journée.

Hello Chris,
It is always good to look upwards to obtain a very original viewpoint.
We do see some hieroglyphic details but mostly the diagonal composition attracts our attention.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Chris,
A well seen photo opportunity right beneath these ancient columns. Diagonal framing was just the right choice. But going there in summertime probably wasn't!

Hello Chris,
Great upward view of these impressive pillars. I like warm tones in front of the greyish blue sky and the play of light and shadows is also most appealing.

Hello Chris
Your note explains the beautiful image as the colonnade cuts through the corners of the image. Would have been nice to have a piercing blue sky in the background, nice
