Photographer's Note
A closer view of some of ancient pillars at Medinet Habu, which once supported a wooden roof. The courtyards were first occupied with Byzantine churches and later with mosques after the 7th century, some of which still remain, such as the one at the main city temple in Luxor. Medinet Habu is on the west bank of the Nile adjacent to the Valley of the Kings and was the necropolis for Ramesses III.

Bonjour Chris,
Le cadrage serré met le site en évidence. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des colonnes. La lumičre fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne journée.

Hello Chris,
I found many photos similar to this when I had a look at my old Egyptian pictures the other day. But your digital photos are sharper and clearer, so I guess I will mainly post my usual street shots. This one has a fine luminosity, and the reliefs are as beautiful as ever.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Chris,
A very nice corner of the courtyard of Medinet Habu.
You have been looking for a good position to show the remaining parts of the columns together with the wall full of beautiful reliefs.
Beautiful composition and good sharpness.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Chris
I still have a hard time wrapping my head around once great cultures that to have just vanished. Like the Mayans and Incas here in the west. Amazing the clues they left behind. Nice capture.

Hello Chris,
Excellent close range picture upon the Egyption hieroglyphs and stones carved paintings.
Good sense of depth from the big stone up-front to the wall behind.
Have a nice new week,

Hello Chris,
I fine photograph capturing the details of inscribed figures and hieroglyphs.
I like how you have included the remains of the pillar off-centre, in the f/g, and linked it to the other pillar bases. Without these, your photograph would not have had the good sense of depth.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Chris,
I have a photo from Medinet Habu here which explores the same idea:
https://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Africa/Egypt/Inland/Luxor//photo1511309.htm
May be taken in the same square?
Great depth of the field. The walls are full of history, full of stories.
Excellent reportage,
M
