En Afrique de lEst, les guépards chassent dans les plaines herbeuses de lécosystčme Serengeti (Tanzanie)/Maasai Mara (Kenya). Leurs proies, la plupart du temps dassez petite taille (gazelles de Thomson ou de Grant ) leurs sont peu visibles au ras du sol. Pour scruter lhorizon, ces félins montent donc sur des promontoires, petites collines naturelles, buttes de termitičres . A défaut, il nest pas rare que le capot ou le toit de la Landrover qui sest arrętée pour lobserver, fasse laffaire.

In Eastern Africa, cheetahs hunt in the long-grass plains of the Serengeti (Tanzania)/Maasai Mara (Kenya) ecosystem. Their preys, rather small (Thomson and Grant gazelles), are hardly visible at the ground level. The cats therefore climb on natural promontories, small hills, termite hillocks ..... When available, the roofs and hoods of Landrovers, which stopped so as to watch them, are often appreciated.

Un bémol le félin manque de lumičre et ne sourit pas ;-)

oh wow, you lucky thing, what a shot, it could have been a little more vivd colour wise but finding and photographing this subject deserves points on its own, well done and TFS

This is truly a great capture - and the luck of the cheetah practically posing for you - am almost jealous here! ;-)
I like the layers of colours which create both a nice back- and foreground.

bonjour patrck,
le guépard serait il une guéparde attendant des petits?
sinon la compo est super, les bandes de couleurs sont trčs belles, moi aussi j'aurais aimé qu'il y ait un peu plus de lumičre sur le guépard.

Pas facile ce cliché en contrejour... Le cadrage est excellent et je comprend que lui envoyer un coup de flash dans la tronche n'est pas forcément évident... je trouve que l'on parviens ŕ voir les ocelles de l'animal et compte tenu de la situation c'est pas mal ! Serait ce une guéparde enceinte ? généralement ces animaux ont un ventre creux.

Wow, fantastic shot, great details with such strong backlight. Love the sunset colors the weed in the front adds detph as well as showing the natural environment. Looks like this is a female and she may be carrying babies. Beautiful composition with lot of room on the right. This brings me back to my Safari 4-5 years ago. Thanks so much. Great work.
