My floating house, a photo from Mopti, South

Photographer's Note

Mopti is located at the confluence of the river Niger and Bani; one of the pleasure of a visit there Mopti is wandering along the lively port in order to watch the activities of boats who loads and unloads their cargoes with salt from the desert, chicken, goats, fishes, firewood...
Many of the boats docked on the shore are used as houses where people live their daily life.

Such a touching photograph, to see this young man sitting alone amongst all of this clutter; I suppose the boat was the home. A dignified shot of a poor boy. I am interested, what kind of film was this...the colors are great? Also, the sharpness is great with this lens...a drastic DOF.

This is very nice Luca. Excellent color. But I have several complaints. I think I would like to see a bit more of the surroundings to keep the subject in context; in other words, you probably shot this at the upper range of your tele zoom, which has eliminated some of the valuable context from the field. Second, I think you might have used a noise reduction software, which has eliminated some of the tonal detail. A bit less noise reduction would be better.

neat image.......dont
especially as this was film. I really think we are ging down the wrong path geting rif of grain, and film grain hs such a beautiful look to it. As you can see Im not a fan of neat image or ither such software.
Now, that said I think the shot is marvelius. Wider angle, I think it could have been used but I see the merits of this framing, the boy is well positioned inside a nicely packed but not messy grame. I like the lines going across, I like the colorful details too.
