Photographer's Note
Abstraction on the sand (in the workshop you can see the full view).
Another moment
Taken from my walk
On the orange sunset sand
Around the oasis of Chinguetti
On a late afternoon…

I want to share an anecdote brought back by Saint Exupery:
One day when he was in the desert,
a cameldriver belonged to the one of the many caravans which once, made trade through the Sahara, approaches him, intriguely looking at his plane.
Saint Exupery says to him: "Do you know that with this plane, I spend only a few hours to join Tombouctou whereas for you, it is necessary more than fifty days to reach that point?"
The cameldriver answered him back, amazed: "It is well, but what will do you do the rest of time?"
-.-

Ciao Luca,
a wonderful graphical effect. It´s so strong that it produces an optical illusion. The frame seems to be tilt.
Bellissima foto ! Bravo !

Maybe I can give you your 10,000th point here! It's very nicely done, contrasting the sharply defined foreground with the plainer blurred background. It's abstract and yet very real. Happy New Year, regards, Ken.

Fantastic shot! The contrast bewteen the two halves is really amazing. The top half has the smooth lines and soft colours, while the bottom has the sharp lines of the ripples seen on edge. The balance between the two halves is just right, and it was a good decision to use the diagonal of the slope to divide the two halves as this gives the photo a more dynamic look. Superb!

Excellent cropping Luca, i just saw the WS and believe me, this is IT! The golden colors, the duo tone, the graphics, oh everything looks so strong and beautiful.
Great abstract work, a good start in the year 2008.

Hello, Luca, welcome to the 10K club!
I think the abstraction is wonderful, and a great manipulation of the of the original in the WS. It's an excellent combination of different textures and strong lines. About the only suggestion I could make is not to include that little bit of shadow in the upper right corner. If it were sharp or a different contrast from the surrounding sand, it would add something, but as it is I don't see it.
Happy new year,
Dan

Ciao Luca,
Buon anno

Hi, Luca. A very good graphic image. The ripples on the sand make a very good foreground with lots of diagonal lines. Its dark aspect contrasts very well with the orange sand in the background. I like your crop here, I think the dunes look a little too blurred in the WS.

Hello Luca,
Still a new graphical photo playing with the shapes of the dunes and their shadows.
You really have a look for this kind of photo. I find funny you took it with a telezoom. The one I took, I used it less than 10 times. I am more used to practice wide angle lens, but I am always intersted to see what can be extract in other ways.
Yves.

Hi Luca

jeppo
