Photographer's Note

This young Mauritanian lady is preparing the tea for her family and us. She is sitting under the Khaima, which is a very big tent, where all the family lives daily. The tent is a wonderful concept in desert, for being able to follow the cattle, traditionally. Moreover, it is also a way to benefit from daylight as far as possible, through the fabrics sewed together. Also, altghough it is a real protection against the Harmattan, there is always a very little breeze blowing inside, and the temperature is perfect.
The external part of the tent is white while the internal part is covered with several kinds of very large and colourful fabrics. Here I like all these colours and the light rays surfing aroung that young girl.
