Photographer's Note

Even if you were equipped with the latest edition of Lonely Planet - Morocco or an advanced GPS unit or a smartphone, once you get lost in Fes, you stay lost in Fes. Over 9000 alleys that criss cross in a maze like fashion, the medina is an enigma.

So i happened to walk my way out before the light was receding taking directions and couldn't make it. Kids around the medina usually pounce at the opportunity to make some extra dirhams, i fell victim, so this guy lead me out through dungeon like pathways just about 6 feet high, snaking our way out through narrow openings sideways, width not more than 20 inches.

It was really about finding the light and fresh air, think that is the trick.
Fes Medina, 6pm.
