Photographer's Note

Alors que je fumai une clope sur la terrasse panormaique d'un riad, j'en profitai pour admirer la vue sur les montagnes de l'atlas et les sommets enneigés ... Mais en baissant les yeux et en regardant la rue je trouvai trčs intéressantes ces ombres projetées au sol par un soleil couchant ... clic clic, la clope au bec, sniper amateur que je suis, j'ai attendu qu'une scčne sympa se déroule "sous" mes yeux.

As i was smoking my cig on top floor of a riad inside medina, Marrakech, contemplating the view on Atlas moutains and snowy peaks, I saw then the view i had "above" the street and the interesting scene that was taking place with this falling sun and shadows. Clic clic, while smoking, kind of sniper for this shot, i wait till i saw this mother and daughter with red wall texture ...

Une clope....une clope...:o) Cela fait tout juste un an pour ma part tout comme TE un an aussi..!
Trčs bonne idée ici d'avoir joué avec ces ombres, il suffit parfois d'un rien pour avoir un bon cliché et c'est le cas..!

Everything has come together here; your inventive choice of viewpoint, the colouful wall, your timing and of course the strong low-angled light which has rewarded you with those amazing long shadows.
Your timing was spot-on here, with the mother and daughter just entering the frame, and with no cropping of their shadows. Great pre-visualisation.
This is one of your best, Sebastien, a superb piece of work.

Un superbe point de vue tout ŕ fait créatif. Le résultat est étonnant et spectaculaire. Il y a une excellente définition des ombres, męme dans les zones les plus éloignées. Il sagit dune composition magnifique.

this is a masterpiece seb... perfect timing, great pov, magical compo... it would have been even better without the superimposed shadow on the little girl's... the colour and the texture on the wall are exceptional as well... a real good job, congrats...

Bonjour, Sébastien. Un cadrage original avec ces ombres surdimensionnées qui occupent la plus grande place dans l'image. Les couleurs des murs sur la droite mettent bien en valeur la scčne. Mais est-ce bien prudent de fumer quand on fait des photos ;o)?

En fait je ne sais pas quoi dire sinon que je trouve cette photo d'une grande originalité photographique, ajoutée ŕ une scéne plutôt touchante de ces trois personnages (car je n'oublie pas le doudou de la petite..). Par ailleurs la composition du mur de droite est aussi superbe...
Bref j'adhčre ŕ ce type de photo qui męle originalité, art et émotion.

Bon aprčs midi...

Bon ne poste pas trop vite d'aussi bonnes photos sinon je ne vais plus trouver le temps de travailler :))

Et pour terminer pas trčs bref le commentaire pour quelqu'un qui ne savait pas quoi dire ...

Hi Sebsstien, I see what you're intending. Once we had the movie "The english patient" and you're suggesting now "The french photographer". First one was a pilot and it seems that latter is a pilot too. I can't imagine any other possibility for you to have gotten this exquisite POV. Stunning!!! Nothing else to say.

Great shot Sebastien. The silhouettes with the spot on details, even to the doll tells such a great story as they walk down the path. Some nice earthy colours as well.

Cette photo est comme les ombres : géante!
Quel coup d'oeil pour assurer une telle compo.Les couleurs sont superbes et trčs tendances.

T'as bien fait de baisser la tęte et l'originalité de cette photo me plaît ! En vignette, on voit rien et on découvre en cliquant dessus... et puis les couleurs du Maroc, on les retrouve bien, c'est chouette. Bravo !

A very good top down shot well seen!
The long shadows are excellent while the two persons are very small. The colors are beautiful as well. It looks like the persons are walking straight up the wall, perfectly taken straight from above or did you do some perspective correction in PP?

je ne sais pas si c'est l'effet de Pâques sur mon âme de mécréant, mais je vois des Christ et des croix partout ces temps-ci... ici, il y a comme une croix (inversée, c'est donc l'antéchrist!!!) sur le mur et des ombres allongées... comme, bin oui, tu devines qui...

Mais ce qui me fascine le plus dans ta photo c'est l'harmonie eds couleurs, il n'y a pas un poil de couleur froide qui dépasse. le reste est bien vu évidemment mais je reviens toujours aux couleurs, qui sont la cerise sur le gateau.

Toujours ŕ l'affut (la cigarette...c'est pas bien.....) pour dénicher l'image originale. Celle-ci, il faut la regarder plusieurs fois pour bien comprendre mais le résultat est trčs spectaculaire.

Sébastien, c'est une photo exceptionnelle pour son originalité, ses qualités graphiques et ses couleurs.

lŕ tu tiens le POV qui tue, la lumiere rasante allonge les ombres et rend geant ces deux personnages qui passent dans cette ruelle de Marrackech, les couleurs sont splendides un resultat final de grande qualité, j'aime beaucoup.

La clope au bec....c'était la meme chose pour moi...essayer de pas se choper la fumée devant l'appareil...tout une technique :)
Bon lŕ je tente d'arreter....mais j'ai plus de boitier....donc voilŕ :)
Elle est tout simplement magnifique, tout a été dit, je vais pas en rajouter une couche, mais fallait quand meme que je vienne mettre une pastille !

Great photo. Many people wait to take this kind of shot for years and you did it while smoking ;))) Surrealistic but fantastic POV that gives 2 photographs in one. It's almost as if you captured world of shadows and simultaneously in the same photo world of men.
