In Kedougou..., a photo from Tambacounda, East

Photographer's Note

I really loved the Eastern part of Senegal. Not many infrastructures for tourists, dusty or muddy roads (according to the season).. but so wonderful landscapes and people. Here, we can really feel the heart of the country.
We stopped for a while in the market of Kedougou, just to buy a couple of things in the market before taking the long muddy road to Dindefello, where we spent the night before visiting the village and the waterfall. Here, tourists are really rare, so the markets are almost exclusively for locals.
These women were selling bananas and grilled corn.

Hello Ana,
I doubt that I will ever return to Africa, but photos like this make me wish I could be there once again. Although it's a fairly simple snap-shot it conveys so much of the pleasure of life in African streets. The colours and the smiling faces touch my heart and I admire the good exposure and perfect sharpness. By the way, a "fairly simple snap-shot" is just the kind of photo I like the most.

For me it's interesting to see daily life in Africa. The people look relaxed, even though their lives must contain hard work. I like the smiles and colors.

I love to see such scenes from the places off the main tourists routes. Nice women in traditional clothes. beautiful colourful picture.
I have most of my trip organized, I assume that it will be possible to buy Viazul tickets. I was in Cuban Embassy for visa. They were VERY surprised hearing I want to travel alone. It will be adventure for sure1

Hi Ana,
what strikes me right away is the smile on all faces. For some reason I don't see that much smile in the western countries. May be something is wrong with us, or is it the lack of sun...
Pity that the guy has the sport t-shirt. The ladies have more traditional clothes and so he spoils a bit the scene, but I guess it is just realistic and not less colorful anyway.

A vibrant African side street market scene when the big smiles really make this shot comes alive while plying their trade. The framing is apt, good overall colour and contrast of daily life full of local flavours. Well done.

Smiling ladies-sellers at the street market, added good ambiance to the colorful scene. happy to see the guy in blue...? maybe, but he wasn't smiling.
Nice moment spotted, the background adorned with the plastic covers, added fine colors along with the parasol.
