Bird of Paradise, a photo from Western Cape, West

Photographer's Note

Get to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens if you make it to Cape Town. The garden is located at the base of Table Mountain and hosts a variety of flowers that will excite any nature photographer. What I find interesting is that the Cape area alone represents one of the world's six floral kingdoms - the Cape Floral Kingdom.

This is one of my favorite plants to photograph. I love your close up ... it has some abstract quality to it. The colors are beautiful and the depth of field is very appropriate, focused on the foreground and blurry in the background. Beautiful!

This shot is superb. As other members said, it's seems an abstract photo, not a flower. The yellow petal represents fire, the middle one sky and the one to the left Earth... some of basic elements of nature!
In other words, you picture the essence of nature in this photo.
