Photographer's Note

This image which slightly shows the suburb of Llandudno is the opposite view of image posted yesterday 'Sunset Silhouette'

Llandudno is located only 20 minutes or 18km South of Cape Town, yet feels completely removed from Cape Town. It offers a truly spectacular, quiet and tranquil setting. There are no shops, hotels, or restaurants in the suburb itself, only 300 beautiful homes hugging the mountain and overlooking two spectacular beaches. Yet civilization is just minutes away. It's 5 minutes drive to shopping in the fishing village of Hout Bay, 10 minutes to excellent dining in Camps Bay, or 20 minutes to the tourist attractions of Cape Town. The airport is a 40 minute drive.

Llandudno is part of the Atlantic seaboard, the suburbs of Cape Town that face the South Atlantic Ocean. Decades ago the False Bay side of Cape Town was the place to be. Over the years however the Atlantic Seaboard has become more popular with both locals and tourists alike due to closer proximity to the City, more protection from the summer Southeaster winds, as well as longer daylight hours and a view of the sun setting over the ocean.

Quite frankly, I do not remember last time I have seen a photo from you. I may be have been sleeping on the job!!! Anyway, it is a beautiful sunset with stunning colours and an excellent POV. Well done.

Hi Lynette,
A beautiful sunset. Good high viewpoint. Sunset colours are repeated on the sea. I also like the way the buildings show on the hills.

Hi Lynette,

Great moody sunset photo. As a skyfreak..well ofcourse I love this sky! Excellent red colours and a nice cloudspack. What I also like is the high POV, looking down on the town below. Some of the light is reflected on the windows and facades of the buildings..nice. It reminds me a little of one of the sunsets I've seen (and captured + shared here) although that was not at sea. Pleasant composition, good sharpness and detail.
