Photographer's Note

The azure waters of the Indian ocean, snow-white sand, blue sky - this is the oneiric world of see farmers. These plots are almost half a kilometer from the shore. During the morning low tide almost the whole village moves on a white, sea desert. Women cultivate seaweed, men set off to fish in their traditional wooden dhow boats, children play all around. The unreal spectacle lasts for several hours until waters return around noon. The ocean floods the fields again, allows boats to come back to the port and moves the whole local society back to the village.

Another low tide is in the middle of the night. Another performance of nature. Under the full moon and starry sky the white sands sparkle with silvery glow and no one knows if it just a dream or reality.

Hello Konrad - I missed your previous upload of the seaweed growers but have to comment on the series - amazing. I have never seen anything like this before so in addition to the shot being very well managed it is really interesting too. I love the way the colours are presented soft and subtle. definitely more activity on the seaweeds in Jambiani than in Bweeju
Splendid shot with not only the women working on the plantations but also the 3 dhows, quite welcome in your compo

A nice view of the "beaches" in Tanzania. The boat with sails equilibrate the woman at right. nice color of the sea.

You have a wonderful album of pictures from Tanzania & poorly critiques in terms of number. I see no reason why such beautiful pictures be seen & not commented on! After 6 years in TE, I continue to be intrigued by the members

This is a beautiful scene of seweed farming. I might have liked a bit of use of 'curves' (in Photoshop) or contrast to give a little boost to the colours...I think that would add to the picture. Otherwise a fine shot especially with the diagonal POV. The sail boats are real good focal points! Good work!
