Photographer's Note
On the east coast of Zanzibar the tides are very big and spectacular. In some places during the low tide the ocean moves back up to a kilometer. Azure waters of the Indian ocean, snow-white sand, blue sky - this is the oneiric world of marine farmers. These plots are almost half a kilometer from the shore. In the morning the whole village moves on a white, sea desert. Women cultivate seaweed, the fishermen set off in their traditional wooden dhow boats, children playing all around. The unreal spectacle lasts for several hours until waters return around noon. The ocean floods the fields again, allows boats to come back to the port and moves the whole local society back to the village.

Hi Konrad,
very nice this your series on Zanzibar. In particular this one, vast spaces and strong composition, great sky, rich, few elements well arranged. The red figure in that position breaks up to perfection the cold colours' supremacy.Really beautiful!

Hi Lucas
I like the minimalism of this scene, the woman in her red dress, bent busy with her work with the seaweed and well placed in this immensity of turquoise sea and that of the blue cloudy sky
I'm in love with zanzibar !
have a nice day, best regards
