Photographer's Note
On the backside of the Erechtheion the view with the town stretch due NW through the columns.
I was impressed to see how the people scaled the giant pillars.

Hello Ike,
The people are particularly useful here giving a great idea of the scale of this still impressive ruin. The limpid blue sky also plays a part. It would have been nice to have slightly more detail in the shadow area in the foreground, but maybe it was not particularly interesting? Very good light management on the whole.

Hello Ike,
Foreground and background perfectly in balance with a perfect DOF.
The most used example of the Ionic capital. I can remember this of my study books with ancient architecture.
But you picture is more attractive than the drawing in that book.

Hello Ike,
I like the inclusions of a few persons for the liveliness they add and for the dimensions they reveal. The distant view of the city is gorgeous but of course the Erechtheion itself is the star of the show. It's a well controlled exposure in spite of the strong contrasts.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Ike,
The presence of the people has an effect of scale. The point of view is showing the details of the ruins. The good luminosity is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Ike,
this seems to be an original composition, I don't remember having seen this point of view and composition before (and I definitely never thought of it:) I like very much the layout and the definition of the temple, you achieved marvellous clarity in the shade and a fine, deep and clear view in the background. You balanced the light superbly, the colours are very agreeable and the scale really intriguing. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a good night,
Ourania
PS The weather we had today was colder, sunnier and clearer with lots of well-shaped clouds:)

Hi Ike,
This is a nice detail from the Erechtheion, with wonderfully blue skies. I suspect the background scenery has changed since the builders of this impressive structure walked the earth.

Hello Ike,
this is an unexpected side of Erechtheion than the usually one that is from the other side.I can say that is too very interesting as effective with the light and the colour management to enhance the beauty of this section of the temple.

Hello Ike,
The light is really well handled in this photo. The view of the shaded columns is very clear and makes the ancient architecture look very impressive. The exposure of the city in the background is perfect too. I like the POV and tight framing. Well done!

Hello Ike,
We were at the same spot a month apart. The magnificent Erechtheion, which would have been the star of any other complex, is only supporting cast for the most beautiful "extrovert architectural" masterpiece also standing on the Acropolis. Wonderful photo as usual.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Bonjour, cher Ike,
Je reste toujours admiratif devant ces temples aux colonnes doriques et dont les pierres semblent défier le temps.
Une image fort bien cadrée donnant de la profondeur ŕ la réalisation.
J'aime beaucoup.

Hi Ike
this is a view we don't usually see from this site.
it was smart to use this side in shade, probably the other sides we flush with hot white sunlight.
and we can see how densely populated the city is in the bg.
nice shot
cheers

Hello Ike.
A splendid composition of the Erechtheion, which from this angle, the columns look beautiful, with its simple and pure lines, its backlight with the city in the background, is a master image.
Very nice colorful, which gives much appeal to the image.
Magnificent management brightness, sharpness is also perfect to enjoy the details.
Very well seen and well taken.
Have a nice day.
Best wishes.

Hi Ike,
Indeed the presence of people allows to imagine the scale. But I like also the from this POV we can see Athens city in the distance. It looks quite impressive. I don't remember seeing this spot. Brilliant idea. I like how the ancient columns frame the spectacular panorama.
Have a great weekend,

Hello Ike, Less shown view than the one with Karyatides, but also attractive and we can see here also the view of Athens. The people look so small near the columns. beautiful composition, great colours and sharpness. Still good weather in November, I must remember it :).

Hello Ike
It's a great pleasure to see this sumptuous take, masterly captured with rigorous verticals for a professional look, that shows the minute shaded historical details set above the distant plausible era decor for an attractive whole.
Shalom.

Hello Ike,
I think you've managed to capture a quite original view on the Acropolis. I cannot remember to have seen a picture taken from this point of view.
You found yourself a bit higher than the other visitors. So you could include them together with a part of Athens that reaches as far as the mountains on the horizon.
The size of the columns is very impressive.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Ike,
I particularly like how you have anchored the f/g with the interesting details of the Erechtheion, tall and commanding, set against the wider view of the city. It's a great example of balance between f/g and b/g.
The people obviously add life and scale to the whole.
Have a great day,
Bev :-)

Hi Ike
These ancient columns have been witnesses, without doubt, of many historical facts.
Interesting composition with the people giving scale and the city seen through them, in the distance.
TFS & regards
