Photographer's Note
This is Chandratal the magical lake in Himalayas. One of the best water bodies in entire Himalayan range. These days one can travel by 4*4 vehicles to Chandratal. It takes about 7 hours from Manali. The place is serene, steeped in ethereal beauty. We could spend very little time there. From July to September it is possible to camp there by the side of the lake. Imagine this place in different lights - early morning, late evening. By mid-morning, the ripples start on the water and presents a different type of vision. Even if you are not with a camera, the magic of the place seeps in. It is one of those places where one keeps wondering about creation and the grandeur presented by mother nature.

Hello Rahul,
A very beautiful image, I agree, the granduer of nature at its best.
The reflection, the light and the sky are simply stunning. I love the sweeping lines running down to the water on the right of frame.
Including the person shows the scale of this magnificent place. Thank you so much for sharing, congratulations on a superb image.

Hello Rahul,
This pic takes me down my memory lane. Chandratal is indeed one of such place where I would like to return again someday. We visited there at the end of June last year and you in August. You can visit my gallery where I have plenty of pic's of Chadratal posted. This is a nice composition, but it is one such place where you have to be present to understand the beauty - Photograph's cannot by any means show what actually it feels to be out there.
Greetings,

Fantastic place - I like the pattern of the stripes of the mountains going down to the lake - and these colours! Well balanced by the silhouette on the left.

This is something out of the world shot, Rahul.
The absolute clarity in the atmosphere makes the shot dust and noise free.
Do you know swimming?
You were supposed to be in water and move a few steps to your right, then clcik this marvellous place without the shore on the left......and see visitors making a bee line to this place just because of your shot.....such is the power of photography.
So near and so close.............................I have tried a workshop of your shot, of the POV which I beleive should be of this marvellous palce and your beautiful shot.
Take a look and promise to go another mile for a better photograph.
Oh and Ah!!
:)) sure will follow tomorro

Rahul- Striking sharpness in this shot. I've seen many shots of this famous lake and almost all of them present a different view (only mountains and their reflection in lake) than yours- so its kind of fresh.
I would like to visit this place sometime. B'ful...

spellbound!!!! is the only word to be used. however... think you may like to crop it horizontally from the bottom to change the aspect ratio to slightly more wide.......but thats just a personal thought.
