Histoire du vitrail

Du XIe au XIIe sičcle, le style roman utilise larc en plein cintre, ne permettant que des ouvertures limitées, favorisant les jeux de contraste entre ombre et lumičre. Il se caractérise essentiellement par des petits vitraux en assemblage de médaillons carrés ou circulaires, bordés de riches motifs végétaux. Le foyer du vitrail médiéval au plomb se trouve alors en France, notamment ŕ la basilique Saint-Denis, ŕ Auxerre ou ŕ Reims.

Hello Philippe, Beautiful example of the stone glass window. The most beautiful windows are in Sainte Chapelle in Paris and in Chartres. excellent picture, perfect cut, good colours and sharpness.

Bonjour Philippe,

Le cadrage serré met le vitrail en évidence. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails du vitrail. La lumičre qui passe au travers de la fenętre fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne journée.

Vitrail magnifiquement magnifié, une scčne qui rassemble un missionnaire essayant de convertir cette communauté orientale, les costumes et l'atmosphčre sont magnifiques, dans cette fenętre gothique.
Une photo fantastique, avec de belles couleurs naturelles, un trčs bon éclairage et une excellente netteté.

Bonjour Philippe,
nice presentation of this stained glass.
Interesting scene. It must be a missionary going to Asia to teach about Jesus.
My first thought was it was St Vincent de Paul but I think he just organized the missions but himself he stayed in France. So maybe it is St Francis Xavier, I think they both has beard...
Just a guess anyway.
