Magical Sunset, a photo from Southern Finland, South

Photographer's Note

Good evening all! I was out with Denka to Pellinge today to take some landscape photos. Pellinge is an islet just outside Porvoo in Finland. We witnessed one of the most beautiful sunsets in our lives, and got some descent shots of it. There's still a few more photos to come. Saturation, crop, dodge tool on the ice and the frame done in PS.

Nice low angle that lets the foreground play. And the foreground rocks add a depth to the perspective. The icewall is imprtant too as it tells something about the place and the time of year that is not so easily seen from the rest.

I think there is a very slight tilt to the left on the horison. The rocks look a little oversharpened.

Beautiful work, Paavo. I like your composition, very unique. I do think that the image is slightly oversaturated though. Still, nice job.

It's true it's so magical. The ice next to the lake gives the images a unique touch, something like a Gaudi building. Regards.

Great shot, very well composed, and well done foreground. I agree about the ice, very helpful in providing context. The very strong foreground makes this more than just another pretty sunset picture, but also makes it more personal.

I like the complete image... The rocks that jut into the water keeps your eyes looking at the shapes of the immediate rocks and the ice on the bank, as well as the light reflection in the water. A beautiful sunset, and a grand image....
