Welcome to Severn Beach. Where the River Severn flows out to meet the Bristol Channel. It's a desolate place. Muddy, grey and industrial. This is England. Perhaps not as beautiful as as all the other English coasts you may see when you visit, but it has a character all its own. There are two massively ugly bridges to connect you to Wales, industrial buildings galore, a lovely nucular power plant...oh and did I mention mud? Lots of it. In 1922 this was a seaside resort. Charming I tell you. Just charming.

Hi Leilani.
Your note is as good as it gets on TE - informative, entertaining and a perfect complement to this unusual and daring (by TE standards) gritty landscape. The two between them help me to conjure up an even bigger picture than what is shown here. The b/w conversion is so appropriate to the theme - it could be the fifties (of the previous century). Anyway, the perspective effect is strong and the exposure shows all the detail even in the darker areas. Good detail in the sky.
I love the WS, and maybe it could have been the main upload.

That's the kind of shot i'm looking for. I want to discover places like this picture that i'll probably never see. I like the dark side of your pictures.

Hi Leilani,
I love it. The way you stick to greys, dominating the image, thus emphasizing the desolation of the place. It has character, and there are far too many places like this, still they have their own beauty that you show very well. I wish so much it was larger...and also, I think that that workshop of yours is worth a post, absolutely ! It's superb. Very moody all this, and sensitive.
I have quickly looked at your site (not the easiest to use:-), and I have to compliment you. Very personal work, my preference goes to those self-portraits and other photographs that you do not show here...lots of creativity, it's gone in a list I follow regularly.
