Photographer's Note
After posting 19 regular photos and 32 workshop pictures from my three and a half days in Porto two months ago I decided to move on.
These people standing below a radio tower have climbed the highest peak in central Stockholm, Skinnarviksberget, reaching no less than 53 meters above sea level. It is situated on the northern side of Södermalm island, and it is actually very easily reached. It is a popular place for picnics and for enjoying the best views of the city.
Here is a larger version.
In the workshop is a photo, taken 20 seconds before this, when I turned to face the city.
Four years ago I posted another photo (and two WS) from Skinnarviksberget.
You can also see this part of Södermalm from across the Mälaren in this photo. Towards the right side is the chimney from today's WS and this radio tower.

Bonjour, cher Gert,
Gravir pour accéder au sommet et profiter de la vue, c'est sympathique.
L'antenne radio (relais, je suppose).
J'ai bien aimé la grande cheminée destinée anciennement ŕ une brasserie (une vraie !).
Amitiés.

Hello Gert,
Two excellent photographs making perfect use of the vertical format and both as sharp as new pins!
I particularly like how the Swedes have built their own tower to the clouds; I presume this is a new invention for tapping directly into an emergency water supply! 😂 Sorry, I just couldn't resist!
Though both show tall features, the character of each is quite different, caused by your selected viewpoints. It is difficult not to engage with the figures in your main post, who are gazing into the distance. I presume they are not looking at the city since you note that you turned to get the second photograph.
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Bonjour Gert,
Je veux bien te croire sur parole, car ici, on ne voit pas le plus haut pic de la place mais une antenne de transmission et quelques gens autour. J'admire tout de męme ton point de vue.

Hi Gert
as i mentioned to you in my reply, you may not like my next person photo as much as its focused more so on the sky scraper, but we'll see :) about your shot, I prefer the WS photo because there's so much to see from the city, and from a unique perspective too. But i appreciate this main one too. Reading the note, Stockholm certainly isn't very tall is it hahaha, only 53 metres above sea level :) You don't really need hiking gear to get up here, but its well worth it to get that view of the city. Perhaps next time i'm in Sweden i'll do this as well. thank goodness for that cloud or the top portion would be pretty bare. Its a good scene because it shows the activities of the local people, a local hang out spot which tourists probably don't think about experiencing. PS - I find it funny how we all have our own styles, yet we sometimes try to influence others to change. For example, sure...i like the WS photo more, but i understand why you like this one more :) I get it. With my last photo, i stated in the note very clearly my intent, which was to deliberately combine 2 subjects (people and architecture) into one scene - yet some members commented on cutting out the sky scrapers in the bg. Um...no...that's not the point. sigh. Perhaps some people don't read the notes, I think thats the problem more than anything. Anyways, do you have other photos from Portugal? or did you visit only Porto? thanks for this one. cheers

Hello Gert
I hope this is not a lovers leap as well? Your note brought the entire image into perspective. Without it I would have moved on. Thank you very much for great insight and attention to the city around you. nice

Good afternoon Gert,
53m above sea level doe's not sound as a great height, than realized it is a high point after seeing (and knowing from other photos) the Stockholm islands and surrounding are relatively at sea-level.
The Antenna is merely an element built upon the rocks, the people that climb for the sceneries around, which shown in the WS's, are the interesting subject here.
My best regards,
Ike

Hello Gert,
From the thumbnail, the puffy white cloud looks like a giant cotton ball attached to a metallic stalk. Good sharpness and density levels with the intrepid hikers providing scale. Tfs!

Hello Gert, this shot is a taster.... we wish to know just what the people are looking at, so we have to look at the w/shop and our question is answered.
I would climb up here too, if the view is as good as you show.
I like the composition that shows the smallest amount of land, and includes the full height of the radio tower. And of course it needed the people!
Regards Jean.

Dear Gert,
The young people seem to enjoy this place very much. I guess the one with the raised hand waiting for the photographer to take a picture.

Ciao Gert
i giovani presenti e le scritte sulle rocce dimostrano che il luogo č molto frequentato, proprio come dici nella nota, sicuramente ci sono dei panorami molto belli oltre queste rocce.

Hello Gert,
Oh, this seems like an interesting place to visit the next time I'm in Stockholm again. Great view of the people on top of the rocks and next to the tall radio tower. The blue sky is an excellent background.

Hu gert
the tower is smoking and nobody cares but you! I like the woman with her hands up, she must be taken in picture by her friend.
I would have cut the bottom to remove the table (or bench)

The peak may be easily reached but it's obviously tall enough for the tower to touch the cloud... ;-) And by photographing just the top of it with the sky as the only background you made it look as if it was a high mountain top.
Well seen.

Hello Gert, Your series from Porto was at the end quite a big as for you. I hope you will return to Porto (on TE) somewhen.
Nice scene from the highest point in Stockholm. I am not sure if I was there? I suppose so. I prefer your picture made four years ago, with the view of the town, but can't be the same :). There are some "graffiti" here on the rock.

Hallo Gert The least one can say is about the luck these people had of being so close to the Above by means of the antenna that tickles the sky! You've been blessed by the gods too for the lone cloud clinging on the tower, malking shure to the radio listeners there is no forecasted threats in sight!
I see an happy coincidence captured by the rules book, locating the emitter right-on a vertical tiers line.

Hello, Gert!
The cloud looks very interesting here, making it look like a giant cotton candy! The framing is very good, and I like the presence of the people to give scale to the image! Excellent light and colors! Beautiful job!

Hello Gert.
A nice picture of this group of people at the top of this small height, curious the tall radio tower that seems to reach the small white cloud, lonely in that blue sky.
Magnificent color, which gives great strength to the image.
Very good brightness and perfect sharpness.
Well done. I like very much.
You have a good day.
Very best regards.

Hello Gert,
It is nice to observe the people enjoying the scenery on top of the rocks in the main entry and to see what they are enjoying in the WS. I am afraid the top of the smokestack in thew WS photo might be higher than the top of the communications tower. 👍
Regards,
MT
PS. I am afraid the depiction of Cappadocia at Miniaturk was disappointing but that of Anıt Kabir was fine.

Hello Gert,
I thought that when Lars and I were on top of the Kaknästornet, we had reached the highest point in Stockholm. From there we had a magnificent view of the city and the surroundings. I remember that we cycled past a colourful demonstration in which "secratary Clinton was called MEK now" after we had descended the tower.
Have a good weekend, groet Rob

Hi Gert,
The presenc eof the people has an effect of scale. The point of view is showing the details of the communication tower. The sharpness is very good. Have a nice dya.
