MUSIC AND WHIRLING CEREMONIES
Let us hear Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi's views on music and whirling from his own blessed mouth:

Wise men have said: "We have taken these beautiful sounds and melodies from the whirling of the heavens. These pleasant sounds that people produce with musical instruments or their voices are taken from the rotation of the heavens. We all were components of Adam. We have heard those melodies while we were in Heaven, Although entering this cage of the body made of mud and water and dressing in clay may have caused doubts in our spirits and misled us, we nevertheless still remember some of those melodies. It is for this reason that music and whirling is nourishment for lovers of God. In whirling, there is peace of heart, a connection to God and hope of finding the Beloved. When we listen to those beautiful sounds, the imagination in our hearts strengthens; those imaginations even take on forms from breath.

Merhaba Hakan,
Harika bir kare; Işık ve gölgenin uyumu hoş bir etki vermiş. Ön plandaki hareket ve geri plandaki rölyef semazenin durağanlığı güzel bir kontrast oluşturmuş.

Fotoğraflarımız yan yana olunca "Komşu komşunun külüne muhtaçtır" "Ev alma komşu al"... gibi sözler geldi aklıma. Sarıldım kılavyeye...

merhaba hakan abi

son günlerde neredeyse heryerde görüyoruz. bu yüzdende eski maneviyatını kaybetmiş gibi geliyor bana. çok popüler oldu. bazı kişiler kullandı bunu...
ama yinede çok seviyorum...

Dear Hakan

You really let me no change I had to see this picture and to write a critique. Not because it is not good, contrary, I remembered when I was in Konya and photographed the dervishs more then 20 years ago, It was very impressive. Your superb shot captured the essence of the sufi tradition very nicely. I like very much how you did it. The white dressed dancer against the black background, perfect contrasts. Despite the movement you got adequate sharpness. Really well done

Thanks for this capture...I follow Rumi´s scriptures and stories, and sufi books from many years...and on my visit to Istanbul I couldn´t go to one of this ceremonies :(

So I apprecaiate this one very much...

Really well done, dynamic and with a very good light management...
