Tonglu sunset, a photo from West Bengal, East

Photographer's Note

Tonglu is the first stop while on the trek to Sandakphu. It can be reached from Manebhanjan or from Dhotre(2700 Mts) by trekking for 5 Kms.

Personally I prefer the trek from Dhotre.

The best part about this trek is that the path is well beaten and the views of Mt K is constantly by your side !!

There is only one trekkers hut (seen in the picture) in Tonglu and is run by Tsering Sherpa and his son Lakpa. The simplicity, warmth and hospitality of Tsering touches one's heart instantly.

This shot was taken from Tonglu Top during sunset and the view of the kanchendzonga range from here is breathtaking. With clouds below your feet and Mt K ahead one really feels on top of the world.

One of your best creation...till now. The range, the clouds and the trekkers hut give the picture a completeness within a single frame. Perfect capture of the view from Tonglu...Keep posting...will look forward for your coming photos..

another fine photo of Tonglu. Very well balanced and superbly composed. Yes the way to Tonglu from Dhotray is excellent. I trekked both way in 2 separate trek. Thanks for sharing.
Anyway didn't you meet father and wife of Mr. Tsering? They are also very nice people.
