Photographer's Note
The sun faded behind the horizon and in it's dying moments gilded all in it's path with warm golden light, interspersed between the long tree shadows protruding like conical hats across the grassland in ever increasing length. Behind me lay taiga forest, and in front of me a view of the Bayan mountain range - brilliant white snow gracing the northward slopes of each mountain - a painting before my eyes.
In this remote corner of earth I never expected to experience such beautiful landscapes. This scene slowly unfurled before my eyes as we sat watching the sun set - natures perfection.
I wonder how many of these peaks have been climbed before? I never imagined Mongolia to be so mountainous but actually the entire country is speckled with mountains such as these - some of which measure more than 3000m in height. The other side of these mountains you'll find the northern end of lake Khovsgol - follow the mountains north (left in this photo) and you'll be in Russian Siberia within 30km.
It's honestly one of the most beautiful spots I've ever seen and I'd recommend anyone to visit!
I feel it's worth mentioning this photo is unchanged from the original save a shadow of myself I've cloned out. The colours are completely natural!

Hello,
I like colours of this image and a beautiful calming composition. These clouds at the sky makes a lovely contrast with perfectly blue sky. Horses are a very nice object for taking photos.

Hello Lee,
This picture is very well composed; you provide a strong sense of the vastness of this place by using the horse for perspective. Good rendering of vivid colours and wonderful light.

Lee,
Great open plain, the way I imagine Mongolia to be. It is still on the list of my place to visit. When is the question.
great composition wiht all the element in the right position in particular the horse and the horizon where the treeline meet the snow cap moutain range. beutiful sky. Color balance seems a little bit off on my screen, it more reddish, I was thinking it should have a bit more yellow and a bit of a green hue to it. Great shot regardless.

Hello
please,I want to know if the mountain background is added. Seems the light to be different in the mountains and in the horse and landscape scene. Sunlight in the mountains come from the left side, and sunlight in the horse, grass, etc., from back, as if they were two different points where the sunlight comes from, two differents photos.
Could you explain to me?
The landscape is magic, and the light, too, but seems not to fit with the background light, even sky.
Regards
Álvaro
