Photographer's Note

The Worcester State Lunatic Hospital, the original name of the current Worcester State Hospital, was the first state owned hospital established in this country to treat mental illnesses. It was designed by architects Weston and Rand of Worcester in the Victorian Gothic style. The original design was created to reflect the ideas of Dr. Thomas Kirkbride, who promoted the moral treatment of the mentally ill.

Good place for the "Adams Family". Great building. I like the lightning effect you've added to the photo.
One minor thing, it looks like the building is leaning backwards. If you put it straight it would strengthen the composition.

Wow! Incredible atmosphere surrounding this dramatic edifice. Can the lightning have actually been in the sky at this moment? It's hard to believe you were that lucky! Congratulations on this scary shot! Thank you, Judy
