Photographer's Note

I photographed last month's lunar eclipse with my (then) brand new Canon 1D and 200mm lens with 2x teleconverter (eff~520mm). At that focal length the moon only filled a small part of the frame, but I was pretty happy with the detail when cropped and enlarged afterwards.

I had forgotten all about this photo, but was reminded of it by another TE member, who posted a remarkably similar digital photo from the same night (Thien --http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/North_America/Canada/photo7802.htm).

Thien's photo got a lot of interest, so I thought I would share my photo with the TE community as well. It was taken at about 9:55pm, at the tail end of the eclipse, with about a third of the Moon still in the Earth's shadow.
