Photographer's Note

End of may the days are very long in Trondheim. Bymarka nature park is a area of woodlands, lakes and moors that can be reached by tram from Trondheim. One evening I was exploring the labyrinth of footpath throuh the Bymarka area and discovered this wide open space. The ground here is sour and swampy like a sponge. The long shadows indicate that the evening sun is already very low.
Sitka fur trees are very common in this region but also birchwood. In winter the picture changes completely and snow covers the now brownish areas. Footpaths get loips for cross country skiing.
