Holy land, a photo from Mayo, North

Photographer's Note

Croagh Patrick, quartzite peak, west of Westport and south of Clew Bay, County Mayo, Ireland. It rises to 765m. The mountain is said to have been visited by St. Patrick (fl. 5th century), who, according to one authority, began his ministry there. In modern times, Croagh Patrick has become the site of a popular annual pilgrimage on the last Sunday in July, in which many people scale the mountain barefoot. A tiny chapel is situated on the summit.

Czesc Pawel,
Hm...to juz nie te sloneczne foty z Polski, co? Prawdziwa Irlandia. Coraz bardziej podobaja mi sie takie smutnawe, ale pelne klimatu zdjecia. Zreszta, ktory angielski magazyn foto bym nie wzial w rece, tam zawsze znajde cos w tym stylu. Ladna kompozycja i kolory. Swiatlo...no coz- jest typowo irlandzkie ;)

Piekne zdjecie malowniczego, gorskiego krajobrazu. Bardzo odpowiada mi wlasnie taki pionowy kadr i Twoja kompozycja. Swietnie prezentuja sie te szczyty w glebi podkreslone ta niezwykla, jasna otoczka na niebie. Interesujaca notka. Dobra praca!

A simple composition , but so beautiful . I like the contrast between the lightened white rock in the fore ground , and the threatening sky . Excellent natural colors .

Beautiful landscape shot, I especially like the light above the mountains which gives the shot a very dramatic appearance. Hard to believe that is only 765m!
