Thank you very much for your visit.

My first visit to Ghent since previous year but my second picture.
Clear blue sky 26° Celsius and to much people and tourists.
But I have brought to the quiet place a visit, 100 meter exterior the centre of the city, with the boats and the houses along quay.

Ghent today much discussion on urban policy, with proponents and opponents.
That would be the new Ghent Bruges, according to Professor Eric Corijn, specialist urban planning at the VUB, torn completely from the pot. "Bruges is exceptional because coming four million tourists annually," he says. "The city is mono functional: everyone just come for the sights of Bruges only activities for city dwellers and young people that is not the case in Ghent..."
Ghent has a unique position of craftsmanship and sound knowledge (vs. marketing-driven pragmatism); is small, manageable, friendly, folk, and especially livable; and is increasingly -on reasonable natural manner- a small culture. Who it too much trying to change, would then immediately destroy the heart of Ghent.
And that would be just terrible shame.
