Baby Monkey, a photo from Seoul, North

Photographer's Note

At Everland Theme Park, there is a big zoo and inside are enclosures full of different types of monkeys. My friends fed the monkeys dried bananas to entice them to the edge of the enclosure.

While I was shooting, a baby came up and began climbing on the wire. I got a few shots when I was lucky enough to capture the other monkey looking on.

The baby was too small to eat the dried bananas, but tourists were feeding it anyway. So the other monkeys were sitting around, stealing banana from the baby.

I like this shot because the detail is good. There's quite a contrast between the baby, the wire fence and the other red faced monkey looking on ...

Seeing these animals in cages made me sad ... I hoped to convey that through the shot.

this is an amazing picture....the little monkey is amazingly sweet and looks almost like a teddy-bear. The other monkey looking up, makes the whole composition more complete.

the "bubba" monkey checking out his bitch provides a great insight to the korean zoological system. the pangs of desperation and loneliness in the small monkey's eyes do nothing to conceal the fear he holds for what is about to happen... and you got a photo of it!! imagine that.. ;)

It's a great photo though. Things this cute should not be caged. Nice face and capture.

If only it were ina stuffed teddt form. I would have one. :P

David, I really cant take my eyes off his eyes!!!! So cute and childish but also so much human glance in the same time!!!! I also admire the colour of his eyes which are in nice harmony with the cage s iron bars.... The adult s head in the corner, gives an interesting chance to compare his ~actual size~ !!!!!

You conveyed the sadness very well. This young monkey is clearly intrigued a lot by what's going on outside the cage. Beautifully captured, particularly with the older monkey's cautious look.

I was going through the gallery of most watched photos and found this gem. Indeed this is the best pic i have seen today on TE. The innocence of baby monkey is soul touching and the curious mom at the bottom is bringing so much emotions in the pic. GREAT JOB!
