Sunflowers II, a photo from Bamian, East

Photographer's Note

More sunny sunflowers for a Sunday. Taken in the garden of the Bamiyan Hotel on a hill outside of the town. Last week I posted a similar picture although I think I prefer this composition with one dominant flower. Don't worry, I won't be posting sunflowers every Sunday...

Good ideia, of posting sunflowers on Sunday, Jonathan! I agree with you. I also prefer this composition. The dominant sunflower is just fantastic! Great sharpness, colours and contrast. Wonderful details! I love the other one, by contrast, still facing down. Good work.

The colours are vibrant.The right hand flower may a bit smaller to give some relief to eyes.

yeah, this is better than last sunday's sunflower. Great shot, the colors are just fantastic, so vibrant. I like the angle very much... nice command over these unruley and unpredictable subjects :)

Strong composition, with the radiant flower and his smaller brother making for a good dynamic. The colours are very vivid, and the combination of the yellow and blue is wonderful. Good work!

The colors are ultra-saturated, but it works well. The detail, the shapes, and the color are all there. Beautiful.

Beautiful photo of these sunflowers...I wish you didn't tell us they were taken at a hotel though. The contrast is great- the deep blue and the bright yellow. The composition is interesting also, great crop and angle. Some of the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen were in Afghanistan. Afghans love their flowers, whether they are soldiers, little girls, or mullahs.
