Photographer's Note
This is the rooftop of a classical Khmer style monumental architecture on temples, palaces and important public buildings commonly seen in Cambodia. Perched on the peak of roof ridges, is the large graceful curving ornament called a chofa - an elongated ‘s’ shape hornlike finial which resembles the beak of a bird believed to represent mythical creature Garuda. This set of chofa grace Cambodia’s National Museum building in Phnom Penh, built in 1917 during the French colonial period. Please see workshop pics.

Hello Abmdsudi,
Your w/s complement this more artistic view of the rooftops. I'm sure people looked more carefully at the roofs, having seen these on the main post. Sometimes, we need to be encouraged to look more carefully.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Abmdsudi,
A fantastic close-up of these fascinating roof ornaments. Their warm red colour stands out so well from the pale blue sky and the shapes and details are pin sharp. Very well done.

Hello Abmdsudi, an eye catching shot.
In the thumbnails I thought that these shapes might belong to boats, but then realised my mistake, they are rooftops silhouetted against the sky.
It is a simple scene but very effective, quite abstract. I like the composition.
Thank you for the w/s pictures too, lovely!
Kind regards, Jean.

Beautiful simplicity here, there is no better canvas for this kind of architectural detail than overcast sky. At first, looking at the thumbnail, I thought they were boats. It's fascinating to discover these are elements of a roof.
Have a nice week
Kasia
