Photographer's Note

In the ruins of Angkor, there are disproportionate steps, they are made for the Gods.

There are columns which split the rays of light.
There is the time which smoothes the stones.
There are temples mountain with courses square.
There is the time which does not pass.

And then there are monks who bring a key of color

Dans les ruines d'Angkor,
il y a des marches démesurées, elles sont faites pour les Dieux.
Il y a des colonnes qui fendent les rayons de lumičre.
Il y a l'usure qui lisse les pierres.
Il y a des temples montagne avec des cours carrées.
Il y a le temps qui ne passe pas.

Et puis il y a des moines qui apportent une touche de couleur.

Joli cadrage en effet il semble que le moine soit en train de poser c'est amusant! Ta note me fait penser toutes proportions gardées ŕ une chansonnette sur l'Espagne des années 70 :
Dans mon pays d'Espagne ole (bis)
Y'a des toros comme ça
Y'a des montagnes comme ça
Y'a des chevaux comme ça
Y'a des nanas comme ça
Je plaisante bien entendu ;) Ta note est de loin plus poétique et recherché que ces vils vers vacanciers.

Hello Bertrand,
j'aime tes photos de ce célčbre lieux, on voit beaucoup de photos extérieurs mais rarement depuis l'intérieur. ça n'a pas encore l'air d'ętre envahie par les touristes.
J'aime ta compo avec toutes ces colonnes et ce moine bien sűr.
Un peu d'aberrations chromatiques en haut ŕ gauche mais tu n'y peux rien... ça arrive souvent avec des contrastes violent.

Wonderful photo, Bertrand. I like all the rooms and diferent volumes you show us here, it´s like a multi-dimension world. The overexposion is not a problem for me and the touch of color gives a magical touch to the scene. This photo makes me imagine how life would be back in the most splendorous years of this place. Bonsoir Bertrand,
This shot has the same great atmosphere like the previous one in the series. I like sharp texture of stones and walls in foreground, strong colours of the monk's clothes and magic light in backround, despite (or because?!?) it's burn out in some places. Good note in verses too.

Encoire une tres belle prise de vue ici, Bertrand, chacune tres differente de l'autre. J'aime beaucoup le premier plan genereux a la pierre et qui prepare, en quelque sorte, la presence du moine qui est, en quelque sorte le veritable garde d'Angkor. J'ai l'impression que tu as pas mal de patience pour prendre ces cliches la, que tu attend, discretement que tout se rassemble devant toi. Tres beau. Amicalement, Francis

La premičre du męme tonneau m'avait bien plu par la tache ornge en opposition avec la pierre.;; Ici c'est encore plus beau sur l'ouverture dans le mur, et ŕ ce titre le travail de "capa" est dans le sens d'une meilleure exploitation en cadrage quoique la marche disparaisse et que ce soit bien le format paysage qui conviennent ( une ouverture rectangulaire doit dans ce sens donner une photo rectangulaire).
Beau sujet, fort...

Hi Bertrand, A nice way to present the architecture with a number of complicated gates and columns. The monk provide a nice color balance and decoration to the beaten up architecture. An excellent DOF to have the layers of image well shown. Well done.

Pour moi, cette photo est bonne car elle laisse le bonze en arričre plan dans sa méditation, sa tranquilité...

A glassclear forground as a good framing for this leaning man with explicit colors in contrast to his environment a very nice original portrait. The tiny lightfraction in upper corner can't change the high quality of the whole capture.

hey bertrand ... this amazing shot was on the front page of trek earth, so i had to critique it for you.

i really like the capture here, with the monk half hidden behind the ruins. the variation in the light is great.

i'm not sure i like the amount of space at the bottom, but i can't imagine how to crop it well, so i won't be too critical of that.
