Photographer's Note
A lot of the advertising/shop signs in Mongkok hang out most of the way across the street, like they are trying to watch over you and protect you from falling into a life of non-material pleasures :-)
This street is unusually quiet for Mongkok, so the signs dominate over the lack of people.
At the time I was taking this, there was a Chinese guy walking around with a Canon SLR, big ‘L’ series telephoto lens and a big flash, also photographing people. I wish I could see how his photos turned out.

nice street shot from Mong Kok, I am surprised not seeing a crowd there, maybe beacuse of the rain... I wish there was someone in the foreground except this women, someone on the right side, now this corner is a bit too empty. but it is a nice shot, B&W works very well here

I like the B & W here. It gives it a very city-ish feel. I like the angle, focussing on the signs without an obvious feelign of looking up. I do agree with Maciek, though, that I'd like to see more of a crowd on the street. Also, it looks just a tad too bright on my screen.

Great shot, but a little too white around the left side, but good composition
Well done

I really like the tone of this one... Very interesting angle with the wide angle lens. Well done.

wow, another beautiful B&W photos. I don't know why I can tell this picture is done in film rather than convertion from digital desaturation. The tones are rich and the perspective is also nice. well done.

Great B/W! I love the contrasted images that those Ilford films produce, and this one is not an exception. Excellent perspective; the wide-angle effect here is terrific. The pattern that the Chinese characters forms is great. I don’t like very much the white sky... Fortunately, the sky area is small enough as to not being terribly annoying. Very well seen.
