Photographer's Note
Nestled deep in the Himalayan foothills of southwest China's Yunnan Province lays the ancient village of Shaxi. Shaxi (pronounced 'Shah Shee'), is a culturally diverse town and to the Bai and Yi minority peoples. The dramatic mountainous landscape and beautiful weather, combined with Shaxi's unique history and culture, make for a complete and enjoyable experience.

Hi Benjamin,
Lovely wide angle shot of these 5 grand old ladies. Striking, yet different expressions. I especially like the ones up front. A real pity you had to crop into the lady on the far right, though.

hi benjamin,
I remember an interview with Jeff Bridges where I read about the Widelux for the first time, wondering what kind of camera it was. its extreme wide angle is really fascinating, we can see here why - a panorama of incredible faces with a great swinging perspective.
fantastic colours, too - vivid, brilliant, dense.
great shot, really.

hello Benjamin,
as Benny says, pity about the far right of the frame, but despite that I still consider this photo to be great, I am fascinated by the fact that looking at the image I feel that instead of me examining the photo I am the one being watched, observed and judged. the superb clarity also adds to the sense of being right there. as I said - fascinating image.
best,
Kristine

Hi Benjamin
Its a really happy shot to me, a good interesting image and you have caught the facial expressions very well. Well tight crop that gives more emphasis in the shot. Maybe a good idea to see if you crop out totally the partly hidden lady on the right edge. I love the closeness and getting lower down nearer to the same level, you have made a stronger link, good eye contact
and more engaging with the subjects. You are sharing an interest in their daily existence which is a compliment to most people. Excellent exposure, Clarity, sharpness and colors. Well presented and taken. Congrats. Best rgds

hi ben
i love the character and expression in all of these faces. the thing about seeing them when i was travelling was always the way they went from not looking happy to beaming in an instant. this shot certainly helps me remember the good times travelling provided. thanks.

Namaste Ben,
another nice shot like your rest photos. Here I like most the expressions of the faces. Like also the wide angle view produced by this camera. Nice use of it, only I wonder why did you but the figure from right. Despite this it is a superb shot with sharp details and fine colours... Tfs.
Best wishes.

Hi Benjanmin, Love the wide angle effect in this shot, gives it great depth. Great detail visible too - their clothes, the door and the red/black chinese characters. nice work. Cheers, Steve

Hello Benjamin,
You shows us a very lovely portrait of these different group people.
Nice in a wide presentation.
One advice my friend, try never a people to cut as the person to the rightside.
Very well composition, nice of colors too. TFS.
Have a nice week,
John.
