Photographer's Note
Domesticated yaks and a Khampa herder wandering on a small mountain road caught my attention. A vital animal to this ethnic minority who are native to north western Yunnan region not far away from Tibet border.
So it’s little wonder that a large part of Khampa's life is dedicated to this animal, renowned for their hardiness.can live up to 25 years anywhere from 3,000 meters to very high altitude. They provide everything from transport for pulling heavy farm machines and transporting large loads through the mountain passes, meat and milk to hair for making ropes and rugs, dung for fuel and wool and leather for yurts, clothing and various other household items...
A high altitude multi purpose hardy beasts, taken in betwen Bitahai and Gyailtang, 3300m elevation
Setting: 130 mm, 1/1250 sec, F4.2, ISO Raw 200, 0748 hrs

Hello Abmdsudi,
Truly a scene which demonstrates the cooperation between man and beast. The care for the animals results in work from the beasts.
It's a fine close-up shot, the trio really filling the f/g with interesting images. It's a lovely composition, the angled road following an opposing line to the yoke joining the yaks.
The shallow dof is very well used.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Abmdsudi,
A beautiful photo that teaches us that in China one uses YP (Yak Power) instead of HP (Horse Power)
When I look at the man's face, he seems to doubt whether you can take a picture of him, but luckily you did well.
Well done
Best wishes for a liberating and healthy 2021, Rob

Hello abmdsudi,
Nice capture. I like how the yaks mirror the facial expression of the herders gestures and facial expression. Or is it only me, who sees it?
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello Abmdsudi.
A scene full of typicality for us and real from day to day in the country.
Huge and powerful that pair of yak, which in a rudimentary way with that trunk carry them like a team, and a good portrait of the driver of the same.
Sharpness, lighting, color, and the magnificent composition; they are all perfectly realized factors, in this precious image.
Well done. I like very much.
Have a Happy New Year 2021 and may we finish as soon as possible
with this pandemic, that is my wish.
All the best for you and family.
Luis.

Hello Abmdsudi, I have seen a lot of yaks around Shangri La. also on the altitude of 3300 m.
They have always these rings in the nose, I do not like this. Lovely composition.
Happy New Year

Hello Abmdsudi,
Happy New Year! This is an excellent shot. I like how the man is looking at you a bit suspiciously, but he looks very comfortable next to those large yaks. :-) It's good that man and animal have such a good relationship. Those large horns could certainly do some damage! Take care...
