Photographer's Note

The Everest Base Camp is situated at 5200m. This is the camp on the chinese side. There is another one on the nepalese side.

The site has quite a few permanent tents for tourists and mountainers, where you can actually have a meal, a cup of tea, some rest or even spend the night. You can even send your postcards from the highest post office in the world.

A few meters away, after a guard house, you can find the real base camp (the one on the picture), where you can find the expeditions tents. Despite the apparent nice weather during my visit, there wasn't any attempt due to the fact that some bad weather was expected in the next days.

The two days I spent there will remind forever in my mind !! All the way in car to the Rongphu monastery, and then the walk up to the base camp was extraordinary scenery !!

Here the Everest is named "Qomolangma", which means in Tibetan "Goddess Mother of the Universe"

J'aime beaucoup la cohabitation de ces tentes aux teintes vivces dans un environnement magnifique.
Trčs jolie composition.
La netteté est parfaite du premier plan ŕ la chaine de montagne ŕ l'arričre. Les couleurs sont superbes.

Eh bien Pascal, trčs belle photo pour nous présenter ton voyage prčs de la Déesse mčre de l'univers (jolie nom, j'aime!). Ta photo est une superbe netteté et clarté. Sans les tentes, déjŕ elle aurait été magnifique. Mais avec elles, elle devient un petit bijou. J'aime le contraste entre cet orange vif et le gris de la terre rugueuse. Le filtre a donné un ciel d'un bleu profond. Bravo!

Bonjour, Pascal. Superbe image. Les tentes oranges contrastent trčs bien avec les couleurs de la moraine et forment un avant-plan de choix. L'Everest trône au-dessus de tout cela et, d'ici, le sommet n'est pas gagné. Il a encore l'air trčs loin. Cette impression est sans doute due en partie ŕ la focale utilisée, mais n'empęche... En tous cas, un panorama grandiose.

Bon d'accord, tu n'es pas allé au sommet du Zinalrothorn, mais je constate que tu es tout de męme monté beaucoup plus haut!

Cette photo est splendide. J'adore les couleurs vives du ciel et des tentes qui tranchent avec cet environnement minéralement. Et le toit du monde en fond, c'est tout simplement grandiose!

What an amazing place, truely man is humbled in such an awesome mounatin. The Nepalise have given it such a worthy name mother tof the universe.
The composition is great and the sharpness is stunning. The blue is well captured, I see you use a UV filter and not a polariser.

congratulations for this excursion, and the view you captured. It has an extraordinary clearness and a great sharpness. The colors have the precise light and the composition is very equilibrated, with the yellow tents in the foreground occupying a more than half of the photo and the impressive landscape with the highest mountain, Everest, in the back. Simply great!
I believe you when you say that these views will remain forever in your mind. It can't be another way.Best regards

Quelle belle photo, impressionnante, colorée et bien saturée, magnifique! J'aime bien les tentes, seules dans ce milieu isolé, comme des champignons qui auraient poussés sur un terrain hostile.

Bonjour. La composition est vraiment originale et ces tentes apparaissent un peu comme des champignons qui auraient poussé lŕ, en face du toit du monde... La profondeur de l'image est parfaitement gérée et la polarisation est efficace sans ętre trop poussée. Superbe image, merci du partage !

A very impressive photograph from a part of the world that few us are fortunate to visit - you are lucky to have been one of the fortunate ones. beautiful shot and very nice comment too. I visited Tibet couple of years ago but didn't manage to reach the Everest Base Camp. Anyway, I remember the atmosphere of this spectacular place on the roof of the world....

C'est assez étonnant ce POV avec l'Everest en point de fuite.
C'est un effort sans aucun doute que d'aller se ballader lŕ-haut.
