Photographer's Note
Just in front of the Forbidden City. The guy doesn't look very cheerful ... anyway I like his pose, I wish I could send him his portrait someday !!

I like the look on his face...what does he think, he can scare you??:) Nice atmosphere, the B&W enriched the shot! I think you should do everything to find his adress and so send him is portrait :)!

Pingu - this is a brilliant portrait! Do you realise that you have captured such incredible sombreness, such incredible history and natural human activity all in one? This young man is intent on his mission - focussed, with this fortress in the background. Inbetween, all the tourists - oblivious. Very well done. Excellent in B&W.

A strong composition, the power of the young and unexperienced. I like his closed face and his repetition on the right. The contrast of the soldiers (police?) and the ordinary people with seemingly no sence of order is great.

He should only know how nice his portrait looks. I like your choice of Black and White for this photo. Between the fog in the background and your depth of field, he stands out very well.

I can honestly say that this is one cool shot. I mean, B&W is such a perfect choice for this subject. The hazy building in the bacground adds nice depth to the shot as well. Maybe the central character is a bit too central in the frame and I wish I could see more facial features, but what the hell, this is excellent as it is. Good job!

Very good journalistic shot of China, the policemen really looks threatening. I like the haze in the background that creates a contrast with his dark silhouette.
However I think your picture could have stood some additional brightness.

Very impressive portrait with these killer eyes! Great contrast between the character and the background. An overall scary picture!

You have captured the feelings here very well - the monolithic buildings, the vacuous expressions of the guards, the marauding millions of gawking tourists. The overall darkness and light is very nice.
I would have cropped a little off the frame left to tighten the sloping subjects from left to right, and maybe a little off the bottom to maintain the right ratio.
