Hi Mike,
The picture looks very surrealistic, if it was taken from a Fantasy movie. You really understand your pp and it looks very beautiful in the way you are presenting it.
The warm tones and the striking composition with the boat is very good. That lamp in front...to good to be true...wonderful.
Wonder what equipment you are using?

Colors are absolutly amazing, and the sharpness is perfect.
The way you've composed, with this "boat" which makes a diagonal is well seen.

Hi Mike,

SPLENDID photograph, cheer. I like much the image processing which gives a side out of time to the moment. The landscape is fantastic. The catch of sight on the boat gives a beautiful depth to the image. I appreciate also much the lantern with this beautiful management of the beam of light. Sincerely I find that it is a true work of art this photograph. Still cheer and thank you for sharing.

This is a high class picture. It could well fit on national Geographic.

Fantastic shot! Why don't you tell us more about your camera and settings... You have may be the highest standard of picture quality on this site, but you do not like to speak so much about the "making of"! Did you really used a tripod and flash?

Hi Mike. I have seen a number of shots with the same background and motif, but this one is exceptional. It is verging on perfection. Colour wise, composition wise, exposure wise... look, ZI can not see anything negative, just beauty that overwhelms the soul. This is a fascinating and extremely well constructed photograph. I love the way all the individual elements - the boat, the lamp, the cormorant and the far riverbank - converge on the fisherman's face, which is the true focus, the eye of the picture. His enigmatic, almost mocking smile sums up the overall aura of mystery.
A real visual feast, congratulations!

Hi Michael,
I already knew this photograph since I've admired it in your Photo.net portfolio. This is an amazing picture with great dynamism in composition and colors.
Colors of the sky is simply outstanding. The cormorant attitude is perfect.
I don't know how to tell this in english, but I feel calm and serenity while looking this photograph.

Hello Michael,
that picture is crazy! Totally surreal. First, the tones in the sky and in the water are very spectacular. Then, there are details everywhere, the lamp, the 2 cormorans, the clear shallow water, the stones under water, the boat, the hills...That's totally crazy. That light must have been hard to manage. It's hard to tell at what time of day it was because it looks so surrealistic.
There is some serious dodging and burning going on around the lamp, boat, cormoran, man...but that's all right. It works well. You definitely knew what you were doing .

This is an incredibly good image, Michael. Perhaps a little heavy on the PP in places (halo effect around the cormorant's beak and the fisherman's hat), but you get away with it because the overall impact is like a work of art. I had a similar shot yet to post from my humble Nikon (I assume this is from your Hasselblad) but after seeing this I don't think I will bother. Cheers . . . David

Yes this is indeed timeless Michael!
It is extremely beautiful, what a mood!!
Everything is just spot on, looks like it is arranged! The flapping bird along with the lamp and boat jumping at us almost 3D like, not to mention the colors, light and even a couple of limestone cliffs did you manage to get room for.
Amazing!

This is a spectacular image. Everything about it is perfect: the foreground interest of the lantern and cormorant, the angled lines of the boat, the soft, even lighting, of course the amazing subjects and backdrop. This is the kind of image that inspires me to keep shooting/creating!! :)

Spectacular capture of this moment. Very sharp, colorful and serene atmosphere. Love this picture Michael. I'm not very good at taking pictures with humans. Apparently, leaving humans in a picture gives a good strength and substance and I should learn to do it. Most of my pictures are without human with just scenaries.

Hello Michael,
I believe you used a graduated filter to hold the brightness of the sky. The exposure, fill light is just at the right amount. Beautiful composition and photography. Thanks for sharing.
