Photographer's Note

In Budge Budge, basically a suburb of Calcutta, villagers work on sewing on beads on these sarees. Large shops have these sarees made by them, pay them a pittance, and make killing selling the sarees for at least ten times of what they pay for the work.
The girls who do the work suffer eye strain and it plays havok on the wrist muscles as well.

wonderful capture. the color and detail is great too. partial view of the artist is a nice touch here. your note makes this simple shot a very effective one.
