Photographer's Note

April in Calcutta can be a cruel month with temperatures soaring high and unbearable humidity making you feel sticky and soggy. Yet early mornings are great when it’s still cool from the night and there is beautiful misty sunshine in the streets. A perfect time to sit on the kerb and watch the city wake up while having a cup of sweet Indian tea, or chai.

The photo shows a stall selling tea and snacks. I wanted to capture in it a typical Calcutta morning as I remember it.

As I’m still learning to use the features of my image processing software, I’m not sure whether I’m using these properly… Anyway, I cropped the picture and tried to enhance its brightness and contrast.
