Photographer's Note
I took This shot at North Kolkata.. You can see the tram and the busy people..
About North Kolkata:-
North Kolkata is the older area of Kolkata, a fascinating district dominated by narrow little lanes and hundreds of century-old buildings.
Includes Chitpur, Bagbazar, Belgachhia,Shyambazar, Shobhabazar, Maniktala, Jora Sanko and the famous College Street area. Also situated here are the Sealdah station, one of the largest train hubs in India, and the newly built Kolkata station. Dum Dum being the prime communication hub of Kolkata having International Airport, Metro Rail, Circular Rail, Ground Rail.
The Northern part of Kolkata houses the old buildings belonging to the Zamindars (Landlords), other rich Bengalis who used to trade with the British. It preserves the cultural heritage of Kolkata. The building structures give an impression of the royal people who stayed there. The area is generally crowded and has some interesting markets including the famous Posta, Burrabazar whole sale markets, College Street Book market where you can trace many out of print books with a little patience. While in College Street a visit to the College St Coffee House is a must. Also around the area are the Calcutta Medical College, the Presidency College and Calcutta University.
Also I gave a BW version of it in WS

Colorful daily-life photo, Indrasish, the first sight caught my attention to the man carries two big bags and stride along.
Also, many elements in vivid colors appear to employ beautifully the picture.
Nice taken on a rainy day.

Hello Indrasish,
rain can be sometimes the best friend of a photographer.I think this was the case here as the rain creates here so lovely and unique mood of the scene.
I just love the scene-its urban character, the tram, taxi, interesting architecture and people at their daily activities.
Superb composition my friend!
Also the reflections in the wet road as well as so delightful, vivid colors contribute to the success of your composition.
Have a nice day

Hi Indrasish
a shot full of fascinating elements and such irresistible character. The colours stand out so distinctly washed clean by the rain. Full of atmosphere and composed to the greatest effect. Absorbing imagery!
Have a great week - Brian.

Hello Indrasish.
I'm glad you posted the colour version - the red tram makes a great subject, and there's no real problem with the white sky on this rainy day. A good daily life scene, with the man carrying that enormous load on his head making an excellent contrast with the tram. The shiny wet road contributes a strong atmosphere to the picture. I think you did a good job of controlling the colour and saturation here, not trying to brighten the picture too much.

Andrew

Hi Indrasish
The charger and the tram combine well and the wet atmosphere makes the scene.

The wet pavements and overcast skies add good atmosphere to this DL shot Indrasish. No romantic, idealised view of India here but shot taken through the eyes of a local and very well done! Warm regards Rosemary

Namaste Indrasish,
This is very good daily life image from this part of the world. While most of us would be hiding somewhere away from the rain, you are out there clicking and the reward is this nice image of life going as rain or shy. Love the weel saturated colors from the rain and the reflection from the wet surface of the street.
Good documentation and image of the street scene.

a typical scene of north kolkata. Dear brother your composition is superb here with the red trum with the surrounding impression of old Calcutta. Love the moisty situation here. Like how you showed the man with umbrella and his reflection in the wet road. Excellent one. Tfs.

Hello Indrasish,
you have captured this moody daily life scene with excellent timing, the means of transport and the people are very well placed in the frame. The porter in the foreground is carrying a very heavy load walking on slippery ground. The naturalness of your picture is striking and at the same time there's an artistic quality to it, expressed through the colours, the contrasts, the atmosphere and your attention to composition and details. The b&w version is fine, but I think that the bright colours in this ambiance really make the scene more dramatic. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,
Ourania

I like the effect of the wet surface to the mood. Unfortunately, rain is a way of life in most parts of the world except Las Vegas. Good lighting and nice details. Wonderful colors. Well done, tfs.

Hello Indrasish,
You're capturing well this street scene by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see this street with many factors of trum, old buildings, the man who shouldered the load, colorful signboard and residents etc,. It is a spectacle with a feeling of a life. And, It is impressive in the wet street after the rain, too.
Kind regards,
mikio

Hi Indrasish
Very nice urban scene, very busy shot and in a very pleasant way. The colors are superb, and my eye is drawn very much to the bright orange tram. The rain adds a nice extra element as we can see the reflections of the advertisements in the road. Nice one!

Hi Indrasish
as you know, i'm a big fan of your work as we get to see places in India that are so foreign to me.
another interesting note too.
great to see the rain soaked street to give the shot a bit more life, and the colors of orange really come through smartly.
