Photographer's Note
Taken from a boat on the ganges at Varanasi on a trip to India in the 80s, but I'm betting that things don't change here so much and that an image taken today would be similar.
Used my Canon T50 with kodak film. I used the T50 for 22 years without any problems, then one day 2 years ago it just passed away.
This image has been scanned and is likely to have lost some quality. I have adjusted levels and done a bit of tidying up with photoshop.

This is a very intriguing composition. It's good that the two persons are not placed on the same line: this way they create an interesting rhythm for the eye to follow.
Very nice colours, in good rapports, without any harsh contrasts. Nice choice of light! I also like your point of view and framing.
Very good sharpness and overall quality for a scanned photo.
Best,
Marina.

Good light & composition (with just that little bit of reflection off the water). The image seems to have survived well over the years & the scan is of good quality & resolution.

Hello Karen,
Nice capture of 80's. It is great to see the Ganga's ghaat of 1986. The umbrella and the Saadhak sitting there is looking great. The old wall have its good effect of time.
Good quality and colors even though it is scanned.
Thanks for sharing with us this great moment of daily life.

Hi Karen,
very impressive composition. I like the vertical framing the the centralization of the subject in the image. Nice elements make this shot a lot attractive. Well done!

Carlos
